It is a beautiful sunny day in Eau Claire. It looks like there will be a mini heat wave the next few days which will be very enjoyable. Looking at the forecast map, it appears that the sunshine might not last all day because Wisconsin is right in between a patch of cloud cover. Also, the wind map shows the marine tropical gulf winds stopping right along the cold front. It appears that the southeastern region of the U.S. is still experiencing some heavy precipitation. The wind map also representing the low pressure system and cold front that is northwest of Wisconsin in Canada. Although these high temperatures are nice, unfortunately they are not staying. Within the nest few days the temperatures will start creeping back down into the 30's. My prediction for tomorrow is that temperatures continue to stay relatively high and it should be a partly cloudy day.

It is a pretty gloomy day here in Eau Claire. The temperatures are getting pretty chilly from the continental polar winds coming in from the north and it is overall an overcast day. Looking at the forecast map, there is a series of lows following the cold front which is what is bringing large amounts of precipitation in the southeast. The forecast map also shows that the whole state of WI is under cloud cover which is what we are seeing today. The wind map shows winds coming from the Gulf of Mexico and stopping along the cold front. Similarly, winds moving south from the midwest are also stopping along that cold front. The southerly winds are also bringing more moisture to the existing precipitation which causing flood warnings in that region.

Once again, another absolutely beautiful day here in Eau Claire! Clear blue skies and lots of sunshine. Also, it is warmer than yesterday like I predicted which is a plus. Wind direction is coming from the west but it looks like those west winds are meeting with southerly wind. The continental tropical winds can be thanked for this increase in temperature from yesterday. Winds can be very important in influencing temperatures. On the temperature map, the warmer areas around the midwest are at the same location as where the south winds are pushing warm air north.  The cooler areas one the east side of the US are located in the higher elevated areas on the Great Smoky mountains. The cooler areas on far western side of the US are located in the higher elevated areas on the Rocky Mountains. Temperature decreases with elevation.

Another beautiful day in sunny Eau Claire! The high pressure dome shown on the radar map is to thank for the clear skies.  However, temperatures are slightly lower than yesterday which contradicts yesterdays prediction. Continental polar winds are still coming from northern Canada which could explain these colder temperatures. Looking at the temperature map, it does look like most of Canada is colder than it was yesterday. An interesting observation from the wind map is the that there are winds to the west of Minnesota that are actually coming from the southwest moving north. As these winds are carried east from the polar jet stream, the midwest will hopefully warm up a bit as southerly winds will start carrying continental tropical air north. My prediction for tomorrow is that hopefully temperatures get a little warmer and the high pressure dome will continue to give us a sunny day.

Eau Claire is lucky enough to continue experiencing temperatures in the high 30's. It was another sunny day here with clouds only occurring here and there. Because there are winds coming from the north, one would expect cold temperatures coming along with it because of the continental polar winds associated. However, there are relatively warm temperatures in Canada as well right now too which is why Eau Claire is seeing temperatures above freezing. The radar map is showing a stationary front moving towards the midwest bringing high pressure following close behind. My prediction for tomorrows forecast is that it stays relatively the same temperature and sky cover.

A lot of sunshine today! Not a cloud in sight. The temperatures are still a little bit colder than preferred and the NW winds bringing in the continental polar air from Canada is not helping. There is a stationary front moving from the West to Eau Claire's general direction. The two high pressure zones in the midwest is what is providing the clear skies and nice weather today. Another aspect to take a look at on the wind map is that there is still a large cyclone sitting right off the NE coast. This cyclone has been spinning around that area for a few days now causing a lot of destruction. My prediction for tomorrow's weather is that Eau Claire will still receive around the same amount of sunshine and will hopefully heat up a few more degrees. All in all, tomorrow should relatively look the same as today.

It was a rather chilly day here in Eau Claire but luckily it was mostly sunny with some scattered clouds. Looking at the radar map, it looks like the NE coast of the US is still being hit hard with winter storms. There is a Low pressure system and an occluded front around that area. The isobar map shows how strong the winds are in that region as well. The isobars are very close over there, and far apart over Eau Claire which explains why it wasn't very windy here today. My prediction for tomorrow is that we will still see relatively cooler temps but the High pressure zones should bring relatively clear skies.

Eau Claire is still experiencing the snow storm from yesterday but it is starting to die down. Still a little windy but not as windy as yesterday. On the surface map the low pressure system is located a little southwest of Eau Claire and the wind map shows the winds sort of circling the low pressure zone with all of precipitation around it. Looking at the radar map, you can see the snow precipitation moving around the US and then the rain precipitation below that. The temperature map helps to show where the line of snow and rain meet on the radar map. Tomorrow should be an overcast day and luckily no snow.

It is an overcast day here in Eau Claire and it is extremely windy. The wind map shows winds coming from the NE and the SW meeting in the Midwest along a defined line. The winds are meeting were the low pressure system is located. Also, the isobars that are very close together over Wisconsin and Minnesota show why it is so windy here today. Within a few hours, the snow storm will start to hit and Eau Claire will probably see snow fall throughout the day and into the night. My prediction for tomorrow is that it Eau Claire will still continue to see some snow.

It is a beautiful day in Eau Claire! The temperature in above 40°F and the sky is clear of any cloud cover. Warm temperatures appear to be creeping up to the Northern Midwest and the SE winds can be thanked for that. The winds appear to be hitting a wall once they reach the West which seems to be because of the cold front and series of low pressure zones moving from the West.  It looks like cloud cover is moving in from the NW so Eau Claire could see an overcast day tomorrow.

It is an overcast and gloomy day here in Eau Claire. Not the kind of weather you want for a Friday typically. The temperature is at 38° F and it actually feels like that temperature as well which is usual. However, the wind speeds are only at 1mph which can explain why it doesn't feel any colder than it is. Looking at the wind map, it appears there is barely any wind from Wisconsin and then straight down to Arkansas.  The Northeastern part of the United States is currently experiencing winter storm Riley which is causing a lot of flooding and damages. The wind maps show where Riley is right now. The winds look extremely strong in that region and it has been reported that trees have been blow down. For tomorrow's forecast, I predict warm temperatures in the 40's and a sunny day.
